While I was in Lyon, I have also spoken on the Interpol Conference. I have told and explains how it

Kings of Lyon. | Nota Bene | The official German blog of Eugene Kaspersky
Recently visited us Ronald Noble, Interpol Secretary-General, helsinki in Moscow. That's a hell of a guy. Him the Order of the French Legion of Honor was awarded, he is a professor helsinki at New York University School of Law and - surprise! - Honorary Professor of the Urals State Legal Academy (if you can trust the Russian Wikipedia page on him). Anyway, now I was his turn to pay him a combined business and friendship visit ...
It turned out that Interpol is a through and through computerized helsinki organization. Interpol has its own cloud with all sorts of information helsinki about various international criminals, including photos, videos, finger prints, scans of fake passports, stolen cars and a lot more. Both the officials of Interpol and national police forces have access to the service. Thus some crimes to be cleared almost immediately.
Our great host told us some interesting current stories. A few examples: A man celebrated the purchase of a new Bentley in Monaco, but when he went to bed on the same day, had already stolen the luxury car. The next morning the car was found in Croatia and his driver arrested - even before its actual owner woke up and noticed that it was stolen! Then there is the story that shows that it sometimes takes only three hours to blow the whistle on fake international passports and their new owners. And a few more anecdotes that would have been impossible before the Internet age ... and also impossible before Ron Noble became the chief of Interpol. Before taking office in 2000, the Agency took not even emails! And now they program their own cloud software.
But in addition to the cloud is of course still hard work - around the clock in the Command & Coordination Center (CCC) in Lyon and Buenos Aires. I was at shift change here - "Buenos Dias Buenos Aires". There was a brief handover report and the employee in Lyon los laid.
In addition to the Command Center in France and Argentina Interpol has a third center in Singapore. And there also the office of a new department of Interpol will be opened - a department that I refer to as the Future Internet Interpol for ten years. And finally, there will be something! We are actively cooperating in this project with Interpol and help the authority with our experience, our knowledge and technology. I think soon the career choice for a lot of cyber criminals will not be so safe and easy more.
While I was in Lyon, I have also spoken on the Interpol Conference. I have told and explains how it differs from normal crime about cyber crime. I was pleased that so many people have come to the conference. Interpol is active in 190 countries, and for many of them several participants came - there were a total over 500. I've never seen so many law enforcement officers in a room ... well, apart from French comedies.

'It's a challenge interviewing Eugene Kaspersky - and I've done it a few times. You come prepared with a list of questions, but he does not answer any of them. At least not in the way you expect or want. ' More ...
