Yesterday, I spoke with a friend who lives in Houston, Texas. It was one of my brothers from Ambassadors for Jesus Christ Motorcycle Ministry, and our conversation ramasjang was about my upcoming US trip and the program of my stay in Texas. I told you about last weekend's meeting and also spoke about a meeting I had with a man at a hotel in Helsinki on Saturday night.
That was before we'd go to Porvoo from Helsinki to meet at the Mission Church that I went down to the hotel lobby to drink a cup of coffee and wait for Pastor Tommy. A man with tattoos and rings sat at a table with a drink in his hand. I wondered if I should say something to him but I told God that if he wants me to speak to this man and tell him about Jesus, God himself must ensure open dialogue.
I had my guitar on my back and stood at the counter to order coffee when the man got up from the table and stood next to me to order a drink. He looked at me and asked if I had a "gig". - Well, I have a "gig" with Pastor Tommy Lilja, I replied.
The man wondered who it was and where we were going to play and I explained that Tommy is the pastor and will preach and I will sing and testify about my life. We talked a bit about the music industry and I spoke about earlier bands I played with, and he asked some different things about them and I answered. After a while it was time to change the subject and it was quite natural to talk about my past abuse and about my meeting with Jesus on my deathbed. The man listened and I testified.
Pastor Tommy came and we would go. I introduced myself and said my name and the man said he named Bam. I had never heard of him, but said it is a nice name. I urged him to check out the evangelist Todd Bentley because he tends to shout BAM when he prays for people. The guy looked at me a bit funny but asked a few more questions about how I come out of my addiction and how I managed to quit. My response was that I did not quit, but that Jesus freed me. Then I went and Tommy to Porvoo and had a terrific ramasjang meeting in Mission Church there.
Yesterday, when I told this to my brother in Texas, he reacted on the name, saying: - Do not tell me that you met Bam Margera and told him about Jesus? Who is Bam Margera I asked. He replied that it is a very famous person. I asked how the name is spelled and blasted ramasjang it on Google. Yeah, sure it was Bam Margera I met last Saturday at the hotel in Helsinki. He told you he was going to meet his friends Ville Valo and Andy Mc. Coy. That's what happens when you are not aware of today's celebrities
